During the morning of October 31st 2023, 20-year-old Moamen Akram Saber Arab Al-Muqayid was killed as a result of an alleged Israeli bombing on Beit Lahia.

Hamza Hammad, who referred to Moamen as his cousin, posted on social media that he was killed when their house was bombed.

A picture of Moamen circulated on social media, with publications offering prayers and condolences. Saber A Arab, Abu Elyass, and Mahmoud Hammad also referred to him on social media posts as a cousin, with Abu Elyass asking that God “admit him into His spacious gardens”. Saber A Arab remembered Moamen as “close to all our hearts”. Friend Mohammed Saber Arab also added prayers for Moamen, asking “May God have mercy on you, my dear”.

Moamen’s name has been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Since October 26, 2023 the MoH has released six lists, along with an additional list of medical professionals, which was released on September 15, 2024. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, Moamen was found on the second ‘Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza’ list, which was released on January 7th, 2024.

The MoH list, which explicitly mentions that names on the list are “victims of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip” and a Facebook post from the Al-Muqayid family attributed the death to Israeli forces, therefore this incident has been graded as a “likely strike”.
