Airwars Assessment

Last Updated: July 3, 2025

On November 9, 2023, an alleged Israeli airstrike struck the house of the Jabr family in the Shaboura Refugee Camp in Rafah in the South of Gaza. One source reported that the strike killed one and injured “a number” of others.

There is no further indication of the identity of the victims of the airstrike and no other source alleged casualties. This assessment will be updated if more specific information emerges.

According to X/Twitter user PalpostN, warplanes were responsible for the strikes on the house, located near the Kuwaiti hospital. A photo from afar shows a large plume of smoke emerging from the refugee camp. The photograph indicates the strike took place during the day as the skies are blue and the sun is high.

Where sources named a belligerent, all sources claimed the Israeli military was responsible. As only one source claimed any civilian harm, this incident has currently been graded as “weak”.
