Airwars Assessment
On the evening of December 19, 2024, at least two individuals were reported killed and others injured in an alleged airstrike and/or artillery strike on a residential home near Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip.
The first report came from Safa News at 17:22, which stated that injuries had occurred. Later, AyyamGaza posted on Facebook that the number of victims had reportedly risen to two fatalities.
However, the sources did not provide any further identifiable information about possible civilian casualties, nor did they offer an estimate of the number of injured. In line with Airwars’ methodology, as reports referred to “injuries”, the number of injuries has been recorded as a minimum-maximum 2-2 range. This will be updated should additional information become available.
While Ayyam Gaza alleged that the casualties had occurred due to “drone fire,” most other sources – including a later post by Ayyam Gaza – reported artillery shelling. The earlier post by Ayyam Gaza was posted at 7:22 PM local time, and was marked as “Urgent”. As such, Airwars has recorded the incident as having likely occurred in the evening. This will be updated should additional information become available.
Where sources attributed responsibility, all referred to Israeli forces.
