At around 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, Israeli drones allegedly attacked the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, North Gaza, injuring at least two people, and disrupting the functioning of the hospital.

Sources differed as to whether or not patients were also among the victims. The Palestinian Press Agency (Safa News) reported that four “patients and maintenance crews” were injured by drone fire in the strike. In a Facebook post, Radio Alam reported that two “maintenance crew members” had been injured. However, Anadolu Agency, citing a medical source, stated that four individuals were wounded and that they were all hospital staff.

According to the hospital’s director, Hussam Abu Safiya, as cited by Alaraby Aljadeed, the hospital was subjected to a “barrage of shells from all directions”, resulting in injuries to both health workers and patients. He also described significant damage to the hospital’s infrastructure, stating that “all water, oxygen, and fuel tanks” were destroyed, and that the building had been “completely cut off from power.” “We’re doing nothing but providing a humanitarian service,” explained the doctor in a video posted on Facebook by the radio station Amen24.
