At least three civilians, including an employee, were injured by declared Israeli airstrikes on Haziz Central Power Station in the Sanhan District of Sanaa, Yemen on January 10, 2025.
Houthi-affiliated news @TvAlmasirah reported that “3 citizens were injured, including a worker at the Haziz Central Power Station in Sanhan District, and a number of homes were damaged as a result” of the “aggression’s” bombing. News Dot Alkhalij reported that the “US-Israeli-British aggression” had launched 13 airstrikes on the power station, and provided a similar civilian harm toll, while other sources stated that the power station had been hit with eight airstrikes.
The IDF published a statement on their website on January 10th that “Air Force fighter jets, under the direction of the Intelligence and Navy branches, attacked terrorist targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the western coastal strip and deep inside Yemen.” The statement added that “Among the targets attacked were infrastructure at the Hezaz [Haziz] power station, which serves as a central power infrastructure for the Houthi terrorist regime in its military activities.”
According to Human Rights Watch, “The Hezyaz [Haziz] power station is the central power station of Sanaa, providing electricity to the city’s population. After the attack, power across the city was cut for one to two days, and has been cutting in and out since according to three people who spoke to Human Rights Watch.”
