Two siblings, 10-year-old boy Ashraf Muhammad Nimr al-Basyouni and his 11-year-old sister Rimas Muhammad Nimr al-Basyouni, were killed on March 18, 2025, in an alleged Israeli strike on Khan Younis and/or Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Facebook post by Beach Camp Page, the siblings were among the casualties who arrived at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis on March 18, allegedly “through targeting in Khan Younis and Rafah”, but the exact place or even city of their death was not indicated.  A Facebook post by Mahmoud Abu Zanada’s media platform also listed two children among the casualties.

Where possible, the names of the victims have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Since October 26, 2023, the MoH has released eight lists, along with an additional list of medical professionals, which was released on September 17, 2024. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, names are matched to the eighth “Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza”, which was released on March 24, 2025.

Although the sources did not explicitly name the belligerent, the Beach Camp Page used the word “targeting”, which, in the context of the assessment, is highly likely to refer to an Israeli targeting. Also, as the names of the victims have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza and given the explicit mention of the deaths resulting from Israeli action in the list, Airwars’ researchers consider this as a source attributing the deaths to the Israeli military.
