Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 18th March, 2025, at least six people, including a pregnant woman and three young children, were reportedly killed by an alleged Israeli drone strike on a vehicle in the Al-Sultan area in Beit Lahia, Gaza.

Twitter/X account @PalinfoAr reported the incident at 11.30 a.m., noting that six deceased victims were brought to the Indonesian hospital after an attack on the civilian vehicle in the Al-Sultan area in Beit Lahia.

Thirty-one-year-old Dr. Waseem Ahmed (Hassan) Mubarak (Abu Bilal) and his pregnant wife, 25-year-old Yasmine Hatem Mohammed al-Qanou (Mubarak), were reportedly killed along with their three daughters, two-year-old Sham Waseem Mubarak, six-year-old Seela Waseem Mubarak, and four-year-old Nour Waseem Mubarak.

Dr. Waseem Mubarak was memorialized in a Facebook post by Foad Soltaan, who remembered Waseem as “a man of charitable projects. He was generous in his charitable work, contributing to relief and shelter for people in need, providing iftar meals and water supplies from the beginning of the war until today”. According to his Facebook profile, Waseem had a PhD in Criminal Law and is pictured in what appears to be a court room or a conference room while wearing a professional gown. Additional pictures show Waseem and his three young daughters, pictured in bright pink outfits with bunnies on them.

Multiple sources mentioned Waseem’s wife and children, who were also killed, referring to it as his “entire family”. Yasime al-Qanou was mourned by her brother Mohammad al-Qanou, who offered prayers for his loss and her cousin Mohammad al-Qanou, who described her as “ a daughter to me and grew up with my daughters” and noted that she was joining her uncle Hajj Jumaa al-Qanou and her cousin Hadeel Jumaa al-Qanou in the afterlife, mentioning that both Hadeel and Yasmine were pregnant when they were killed.

25-year-old Mahmoud (Ahmed Awad) al-Shoubaki (Abu Ahmed) was also reported killed. Ayman Mubarak, a brother of Waseem, mourned his brother’s family as well as “our friend” Mahmoud al-Shoubaki, and Amr Sultan included a cheerful image of himself with both Mahmoud, a young man, and Waseem.

Sources such as NewsQastal, Radio Alam, and Amen24fm reported six people killed, although Alarabiya attributed a death toll of nine to this drone strike. Six of those killed were taken to the Indonesian Hospital shortly after. While the majority of sources mentioned that three children were killed, the Palestinian Refugee Portal mentioned that a couple was killed with their four children.

On Facebook, Al-Arabiya shared a video where a vehicle can be seen crushed and ablaze, with civilians trying to extinguish the fire with water.

Where possible, names have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, names are matched to the eighth ‘Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza’ list, which was released on March 24, 2025. Additional middle names of the victims within parenthesis were found from the MoH list rather than from local sources.

Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to the Israeli military.
