Last Updated: October 22, 2025

On the morning of Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at least three members of the Damida family, including a woman and a child, were reportedly killed and several others wounded during an alleged Israeli airstrike on the family’s home in Jabalya al-Balad in North Gaza.

Various Facebook users, including the local news outlet Shehab News Agency and journalist Hani Alshaer, reported on the killing of a woman, Iman Diab Damida, who was killed alongside her son, Anas Attya Ihsan Damida, and her three daughters, among them 21-year-old Suad Attya Ihsan Damida.

Facebook User Aysha Mustafa mourned her cousin, Iman Diab Damida, her three daughters and her son through a post, wishing them to be granted a place in God’s garden.

On Facebook, Durgham al-Labdi publicly extended his condolences to his beloved friend Attya Ihsan Damida (Abu Ali), a husband of Iman, who lost his wife, their daughters and a son during the airstrike and was himself injured, as one can understand from the post. Durgham wrote:

“May Allah reward you greatly, my brother and beloved Atiya Damida Abu Ali. May Allah have mercy on your wife, daughters, and son, and accept them among the martyrs. May Allah inspire you with patience in the face of His judgment, submission to His command, and hope in His choice for your family. May Allah keep you and your son Ali safe and free from all harm, and grant you a speedy recovery. There is no power or strength except with Allah. May Allah compensate you, my beloved brother.”

Airwars researchers found a further name of a civilian that may have been killed in this incident in the records of Shireen Monitor, a Palestinian organisation documenting names of civilians killed – a seven-year-old Duaa Attya Ihsan Damida, who was reported as killed on March 18, 2025. Given the same father’s, grandfather’s names, and the surname as Suad Attya Ihsan Damida, Airwars researchers found out that this was the name of the second daughter of Iman and Attya, who was killed on that day. The name of the third daughter remains unknown.

Where possible, the names of the victims have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Since October 26, 2023, the MoH has released ten lists, along with an additional list of medical professionals, which was released on September 17, 2024. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, the names of Duaa and Suad are matched to the eighth “Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza”, which was released on March 24, 2025.

Ranin al-Bursh (Ranin Albursh) also turned to Facebook to express his sadness over the passing of Dr. Suad Attya Ihsan Damida, a close friend of his sister, Dr. Rozan. Suad was a 21-year-old aspiring doctor who, just one hour before her sudden death, had shared that she was looking forward to entering her third year of medical school. An attached video shows the two friends laughing while using a filter that gives them white sunglasses. In the video, Rozan remarks that Suad had dreamt she was going to become a martyr. According to Ranin’s post, Suad had been visited by her uncle’s wife in a dream, who showed her the palace awaiting her in heaven. Additional photos depicted  Suad wearing a patterned light blue headscarf and a black jacket with a faux fur-lined hood.

According to multiple sources, a number of civilians were injured. However, none of the sources indicated the exact number of injuries.

All sources referred to the incident as either an airstrike or a bombing carried out by warplanes. According to the Facebook page, “Darb Alshuhada,” the airstrike occurred in the morning of March 18, 2025.

Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the airstrike to the Israeli military.
