Shortly before 2:26 a.m. on Tuesday, the 18th of March, 2025, an alleged airstrike struck the Muqdad (Ansiu) family’s home on Kishko Street, east of the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City, reportedly killing at least seven members of the Ansiu family, including two women and three children, while others were reportedly injured.
Twitter/X user @PalinfoAr reported the incident at 2:26 a.m., reporting casualties and injuries and marking the incident as “urgent.”
Reports of the incident quickly spread across social media, where users shared testimonies and mourned the victims. On Facebook, Hossam Alaa Awad identified the victims as: 47-year-old Muhammad Al-Abd Ansiu Muqdad; his wife, Umm Ahmad Ansiu Muqdad (age unavailable), their sons, Amer Muhammad Ansiu Muqdad (age unavailable), 14-year-old Rayan Muhammad Ansiu Muqdad, 10-year-old Yahya Muhammad Ansiu Muqdad, and 23-year-old Ahmad Muhammad Ansiu Muqdad; and their daughter, 18-year-old Alaa Muhammad Ansiu Muqdad.
Where possible, the ages of victims have been found by cross-checking names against lists of fatalities shared online by Genocide in Gaza, which has a list of “martyrs” of Israeli forces. The age of Alaa has been found by cross-checking names against lists of fatalities shared online by Shireen Monitor, an organisation that has a list of “Martyrs of Palestine” from 2023 onward.
Awad also shared a collage of photographs of the family, which included images of a young man in a black shirt and jeans posing in front of a car and taking a selfie, an older man in a green striped shirt with rolled sleeves, and two boys, one smiling into the camera in a dark green shirt, and another shown lying on a hospital bed.
Many other users echoed these testimonies and sentiments, often sharing similar photos of the family. Some, such as user @Qadeyah1 on X/Twitter, also circulated additional images, including one of a young man standing in front of a tree and smiling at the camera in a grey and black t-shirt. Others, like Mohammed Farid Al-Abd, wrote messages of condolence, with Al-Abd posting, “with hearts filled with faith, sadness and grief,” in sorrow at the loss of the Ansio family.
While the names of the victims were shared, no further details were provided regarding the number or identity of additional individuals reported injured in the incident.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all attributed responsibility for the attack to the Israeli military.
