Airwars Assessment
On Tuesday 18th March, an unspecified number of civilians were killed and injured as a result of an alleged Israeli bombing of a house belonging to the Kalb family, east of Al-Maghazi Refugee Camp, behind the UNRWA clinic in Gaza. The victims have not yet been identified and the exact number of casualties was unable to be determined in the course of this assessment. Estimated ranges of at least two fatalities and two injuries have been quantified as placeholders.
Information listed as “urgent” was reported by @PalinfoAr stating that “injuries” had resulted from the bombing of a house east of Al-Maghazi. Subsequent reports made by social media users cited deaths as a consequence of the incident. Facebook user Aboumedienne wrote “Martyrs and wounded as a result of an Israeli bombardment targeting the Kalb family’s home east of the Al-Maghazi camp in the central Gaza Strip.” The injuries were reportedly taken to Al-Aqsa Hospital to be treated for their wounds.
While Duaa Al-Shatnawi, quoting an Al Jazeera correspondent, pointed to “shelling,” other sources, such as Al-Wasat Media Platform and Salah Aldeen specified that “helicopters” were responsible.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the incident to the Israeli Forces.
