On the morning of the 18th of March 2025, an alleged Israeli airstrike struck the G2 Tower in Hamad Town, east of Khan Younis, in the Gaza Strip, reportedly killing eleven civilians, including four children and three women, with at least two reported injuries.

The names of the eleven individuals killed and the two reportedly injured were identified by local sources as members of three different families.

The first family was comprised of Abdullah Shahada Ibrahim Abu Mustafa, 30 years old; his wife, Razan Hassan Abdel Fattah Reda, 29 years old; and their daughter, Lama Abdullah Shahada Abu Mustafa, two years old.

Within the second family, Ali Musa Muhammad Khalaf Allah, 69 years old, was killed alongside his wife, Somaia Ibrahim Mahmoud Khaalf Allah, 63 years old, while their adult children, a daughter named Dalia Ali Khalaf Allah and a son named Anwar Ali Khalaf Allah, were reported injured.

Within the third family, Rashid Muhammad Abd al-Latif Abu Jahjouh, 49 years old, was killed along with his children, Sajid Rashid Muhammad Abu Jahjouh, 22 years old, Hussein Rashid Muhammad Abu Jahjouh, 13 years old, Muhammad Rashid Muhammad Abu Jahjouh, eight years old, and Nour Rashid Muhammad Abu Jahjouh, 15 years old. An 18-year-old woman named Basma Marwan Muhammad Abu Jahjouh, who may have been Rashid’s niece based on her name, was also killed.

Information about the deceased emerged throughout the day of the incident and the following day, as family members and friends shared their grief, stories, and condolences across social media.

The Abu Mustafa family, including Professor Abdullah Abu Mustafa, his wife, and their young daughter, were widely mourned. A resident of Hamad Town posted on Facebook, expressing sadness at the loss of Professor Mustafa and his family, sharing a photo of him wearing a black hoodie and glasses, with his thick beard visible as he smiled at the camera. Another tribute from Al-Kabira Abasan noted that Professor Mustafa had been a teacher at al-Awada School, accompanied by a photograph of him in a striped shirt and glasses. His father, Abu Mohammad Shehade, and his sister, Mariam Mustafa, also shared heartfelt testimonies and family photos, including one where Mustafa, dressed in a grey suit with a red tie, is pictured with Mariam in a red polka-dot dress.

Friends also mourned Razan Hassan Ridah, the wife of Professor Mustafa. In a particularly moving testimony, Rana Raidah wrote on Facebook about Razan’s generosity and kindness, recalling that she cared for Rana’s children so she could rest, describing Razan as “like a mother to me, always feeling responsible for me.” Rana added that if she had known it would be the last time they met, she would have “stayed with her to the very end.”

Testimonies also grieved for Hajj Ali Musa Khalaf Allah (Abu Yasser) and his wife, Hajjah (Umm Yasser). A Hamad Town resident posted on Facebook, sharing a photograph of Mr. Khalaf Allah in a cream suit and kufi cap, alongside images of labelled body bags that appeared to identify the victims. Condolences were also offered to their son, Dr. Yasser Khalaf Allah, a physician at Al-Tayyibat Hospital, who lost both his parents in the reported attack.

Another casualty, Rashid Muhammad Abd al-Latif Abu Jahjouh, was mourned with numerous tributes. Hamzah al-Jabari wrote on Facebook about the loss of her aunt’s husband, Dr. Rashid Abu Jahjouh as well as his son Sajid. Adnan Afana also posted, mourning his son Sajid Rashid Muhammad Abu Jahjouh, calling him “the love of my heart and soul, my soul of my soul.” Multiple photos of Sajid circulated, including selfies, casual images, and candid moments that friends described as “soul-wrenching” reminders of his presence. Other users, including Oday Asfour and Rany al-Sabbagh, echoed this grief, with Rany writing that Sajid’s death was “a stab in the heart that will never heal, and a pain that will reside in the soul forever.”

Further testimonies included images of destruction. Saja Ashur shared photos showing a heavily damaged building with cracks, rubble piled high in corners, and fire damage visible in the aftermath of the strike. News reports also circulated images of the same building, with its first floor destroyed and crowds gathered outside.

In addition, photographs of a mourning tent set up to receive visitors were shared, showing a large group of people gathered under a black canopy to offer condolences.

All names of the victims have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Since October 26, 2023, the MoH has released a number of lists, along with an additional list of medical professionals, which was released on September 17, 2024. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared In regard to this incident, names are matched to the eighth “Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza”, which was released on March 24, 2025.

Where sources identified a belligerent, all attributed responsibility for the attack to the Israeli military.
