Airwars Assessment
Shortly before 4:28 a.m. on March 18, 2025, injuries and casualties among civilians were reported after Israeli airplanes and/or artillery allegedly bombed a school housing displaced persons west of Beit Hanoun, north of the Gaza Strip.
Twitter/X account @PalinfoAr reported the incident at 4:28 a.m. According to several media outlets, such as Al-Hadath, Okaz, Cgtnarabic and Alhadath, there have been both fatalities and injuries. While other sources and personal accounts, such as @paldf, @PalinfoAr, Said kamal qudaih and @saloom_official reported on Twitter and Facebook, claimed that only injuries occurred. However, no source has provided an exact number of injuries or casualties.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military. However, the sources conflicted on the nature of the strike. While most sources mentioned “Israeli warplanes”, Said kamal qudaih on Facebook claimed that it was artillery shelling.
Given the lack of information on the victims, Airwars has graded the civilian harm status of the incident as “weak.”
