On March 18, 2025, an airstrike allegedly conducted by Israeli forces resulted in the killing of two members of a Palestinian family in Khan Younis, the Gaza Strip.

One of the victims of the strike was identified as a 42-year-old woman, Sherien Mahmoud Abdul Rahman Abo Daqa (Abo Jame’a), who lost her husband a year ago. Her 22-year-old son, Diaa Kamal Abdel Aziz Abo Jame’a, died a day after the strike, on March 19th, of wounds he sustained in the strike. His name was among the strike victims transferred to Nasser Hospital, according to a Facebook post published by journalist Hassan Eslayeh.

In remembrance, images of Diaa Abo Jame’a, along with condolences and prayers to his family, were circulated on Facebook. His uncle, Ahmed M. Dagga, stated on a post on Facebook, “You left this life too early, my beloved. I don’t know how to mourn you. By God, the eyes shed tears, the heart is broken and sad, and we are truly saddened by your departure.”

Both names of the victims have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Since October 26, 2023, the MoH has released a number of lists, along with an additional list of medical professionals, which was released on September 17, 2024. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, Sherien and her son were matched to the eighth “Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza”, which was released on March 24, 2025, while Jannah was matched to the ninth MoH list released on June 23, 2025.

The ages of the victims were also cross-checked against lists of fatalities shared online by Genocide in Gaza, which has a list of “martyrs” of Israeli forces, and Shireen Monitor, also having the list of fatalities caused by the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip.

Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to the Israeli military.
