Airwars Assessment
On the evening of December 3rd, 2024, three medics were reportedly injured, one of them critically, and medical equipment was damaged when an alleged Israeli quadcopter drone reportedly dropped a bomb on the emergency entrance of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip.
The hospital’s director, Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, was among the injured. According to multiple sources, including TRT Arabi and Shehab Agency, the strike caused shrapnel injuries, with imagery showing one of the wounds sustained by Dr. Abu Safia.
In an audio clip shared by Al Jazeera on Facebook, the hospital’s director said the following: “This is the fifth time the hospital has been targeted by Israeli quadcopters, which dropped bombs on the hospital, resulting in casualties and damage to medical equipment.”
Several sources, including Shehab Agency, Alarabiya Palestine, and Albalad News Network, confirmed the method of attack as a drone-launched bomb and consistently reported three medical personnel injured, with at least one in critical condition “and undergoing complex surgery in the operating room”.
A video shared by Alarabiya Palestine, Ibnu Hasibuan and other users on Facebook featured the immediate aftermath of the bombing, showing chaos near the hospital’s emergency entrance, traces of blood on the floor, and at least two patients being treated for their wounds, one man having a leg injury, and another one lying on a bed and being connected to an IV.
All sources that identified a belligerent attributed the strike to Israeli forces.
