Shortly before 1:26pm on Monday 9th June, 2025 at least two civilians were killed and dozens of others injured by alleged Israeli gunfire near the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid distribution centre in the al-Shakoush area, northwest of Rafah/southwest of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

In the afternoon, information appeared detailing Israeli gunfire near the aid centre in the al-Shakoush area, killing at least two civilians and injuring dozens of others. A Facebook post by Hani Alshaer, a member of the press, reported on the death of Ahmed Mohammed Hassan al-Najjar who was killed by Israeli gunfire near the aid centre. Less than an hour afterward, Khan Yunis Post published a Facebook post reporting on the death of 27/28-year-old Yahya Masoud Mansour al-Zamili, who was also killed near the aid center in the al-Shakoush area.

Several other news sources, including Palestine Post and Safa News reported on the incident. Initial reports made by Safa News described dozens of injuries from gunfire that was directed at people waiting for aid in the Shakoush area in southwest Khan Younis. A couple of hours after its initial report, the correspondent confirmed the deaths of Yahya and Ahmed as a result of the gunfire.
