Airwars Assessment

Last Updated: September 22, 2025

On the morning of December 9th, 2024, multiple sources reported that Israeli aircraft allegedly carried out a series of strikes on a residential block and a group of citizens in the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital, near Al-Maqadmah Mosque in northern Gaza. The attack reportedly resulted in the deaths and injuries of several civilians and caused fires in the surrounding area.

Safa News reported at 12:26 p.m. local time that “martyrs and wounded” resulted from the bombing of “a residential area and a group of citizens” near Kamal Adwan. Other local outlets and social media accounts—such as @dn_osama_rabee, @PalinfoAr, @paldf, and @F24online—provided similar information, noting that a fire broke out following the attack, with some stating that “no one could reach the victims” due to the intensity of the strike. This was corroborated by Eman Mostafa who reported that in addition to the reported deaths and injuries, no first aid or civil defense teams could reach the area due to quadcopter drones targeting any movement.

According to several reports, the area struck included civilian homes. Anadolu Agency and other sources like Al Jazeera Channel confirmed that a group of citizens was bombed, reportedly killing and injuring Palestinians.

Footage from the scene, shared by various news and citizen media accounts including Al Jazeera, documented plumes of smoke rising from the vicinity of the hospital and the partial destruction of residential buildings.

At the time of the incident, the hospital itself was said to be in a state of collapse, with medical teams reportedly unable to treat the injured effectively.

The precise number of civilian casualties remains unconfirmed. No names of victims were available in the source material at the time of writing. This assessment will be updated if more detailed information emerges.

Multiple sources attributed the strikes and shelling to Israeli forces.
