At dawn on April 19, 2025, three people were reported killed and at least seven others injured by an alleged Israeli military drone strike on a tent in an internally displaced person’s camp near Abu Hasira Street near Gaza Port, west of Gaza City, Gaza.
A Facebook post from journalist Mohamed Awad initially reported that two people had been killed and four others had been injured near Gaza Port. Local sources later identified Mohammed Khalifa and 23-year-old Nour Mohammed Ramadan Al-Dahouk (Khalifa), a married couple, and 41-year-old Nidal Jihad al-Abd Ayyad (Abu Jihad) as killed in the strike. Nidal Ayyad’s mother sustained an injury in her feet (moderate injury), Nidal’s sister, Ramah Ayyad’s children and her husband sustained minor to moderate injuries, and Nidal’s other sister, Samah Ayyad, and her children sustained moderate injuries. Nidal was initially identified as being injured by his sister, Mayyada Jehad, and was in the intensive care unit, but died several days later of his injuries. A Facebook post from Tariq Musleh, a colleague of Nidal, added that 10 members of the Ayyad family had been injured in the strike.
Where possible, the names of the victims have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Since October 26, 2023, the MoH has released ten lists, along with an additional list of medical professionals, which was released on September 17, 2024. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, the names of Nour and Nidal are matched to the ninth “Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza”, which was released on June 23, 2025.
After the strike, family and friends posted memorials for the three killed in the strike. In a post memorializing Mohammed Khalifa and Nour Mohammed Al-Dahouk, Al-Dahouk’s uncle, Bahi Al-Dahouk, wrote, “O Allah, forgive them, have mercy on them, accept their repentance, and place them in the highest Paradise.” Images from their burial service accompanied the post.
Nidal Ayyad’s death was also grieved in online posts, with one posted by the journalist Abbas Mazen referring to him as a “kind and well-mannered neighbor.” A post by Ayyad’s sister, Mayyada Jehad, refers to him as “you who left a void in our hearts that no one but you can fill.” “Sleep soundly, my brother, for our prayers never cease, and your memory never fades,” she also said in the post.
The drone strike hit tents near Abu Hasira Street, according to media and accounts from family members. An image posted of the late-night strike shows a massive explosion illuminating the area.
According to posts reporting the incident, the strike originated from a military drone, with some referring to a “reconnaissance missile” being used.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
