Shortly before 7:28 a.m. on 15 June 2025, Israeli forces allegedly opened fire on civilians gathered near the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid distribution centre located at the Netzarim Junction in central Gaza, south of the Netzarim Axis. As reported by the majority of sources, at least three civilians were killed as a result of this attack – two of whom Airwars researchers were able to identify by name. Sons of Hauran via Facebook reported that thousands were waiting to receive flour from the distribution centre.

Twitter/X account of the Palestinian information centre reported the incident on its Twitter/X account @PalinfoAr at 7:28 a.m., followed by the report by @Qudsn_Brk. Both media reported that three civilians were killed.

A Facebook post from Mohamed Awad listed four men reportedly killed waiting for aid near the Netzarim axis, but Airwars researchers concluded that two of them were killed on previous days, 13 and 14 June. On June 15, 45-year-old engineer Ihab Jamil Youssef Labad (Abu Ibrahim) and 32-year-old Muhammad Mutawa Jamil al-Maghari were killed. The post stated that the men arrived at al-Awda Hospital in the aftermath of the attack.

The ages of victims have been found by cross-checking names against lists of fatalities shared online by Genocide in Gaza, which has a list of “martyrs” of Israeli forces.

According to his profile on the website “Genocide in Gaza”, Ihab Labad was 45 years old and was married. According to Muhammad Mutawa Jamil Al-Maghari’s profile on the website “Genocide in Gaza”, he was 32 years old and was single. In the image shared on his profile, Muhammad is seen standing outside, wearing a light-blue shirt. He had short hair and a short trimmed beard.

Members of Ihab’s family and friends posted on social media mourning his death. Yousef Lubbad and Mohanad J.Y. Lubbad both referred to Ihab as brother, and Yousef posted saying they would fulfil any of his outstanding debts. Mohanad thanked Ihab in his post for supporting him through the death of their father previously.

Ihab was an engineer, and according to a Facebook post from Mohammed Saeed al-Taweel, the owner of al-Qalaa Trading and Contracting Company. Mohammed wrote that he had seen Ihab only two days prior to his death and that Ihab had journeyed to the aid centre in an attempt to get flour for his children. Mohammed’s post also suggested that Ihab’s father and brother had previously died, although they did not specify how.

Many social media sources shared the images of the late Ihab, who was a middle-aged man with short dark hair and a trimmed dark beard.

Multiple news outlets reported on the attack, including WAFA News and Al-Arabiya TV. Both reported that three people were killed in the attack, with Al-Arabiya specifying that Israeli military forces’ gunfire in the area of the aid distribution centre was the cause of death.

Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.
