During the morning of August 6th, 2025, near Al-Tawam Roundabout in northwest Gaza City, reports said Israeli aircraft struck a group of aid-security personnel, killing at least one person and injuring others. Local updates named the fatality as 25-year-old Taha Fouad al-Madhoun, with posts noting the arrival of one fatality and four wounded to Sheikh Radwan Clinic.

Relatives and friends of Taha Fouad al-Madhoun shared tributes online, often accompanied by photos of him. Taha grew up in the Jabalia camp; his brother Abdallah al-Madhoun mourned him in a post featuring a collage of four images, calling Taha both “my brother and friend.” Alaa Elmadhoun also shared a photo of Taha, describing him as “my beloved brother.”

Abdul Hayy al-Silawi recalled on a post on Facebook, of being near Taha when he was hit, saying: “My brother and I were the first to rescue him and take him to the hospital” and expressed anger that some people reacted with joy – seemingly grateful there would be no security to prevent people from accessing food – lamenting that “every day we bid farewell to young men like flowers.” Posts also framed Taha as a son of his community. Residents of Jabalia camp’s social media account described him as “the son of the camp.” His brother Ismail Al Madhoun shared a photo and described him as “my beloved and lifelong companion.”

In response to the incident, the Director General of the Government Media Office, Ismail Thawabteh, issued a statement, quoted by Facebook user Abu Osama al-Jaza’iri al-Birawi. Thawabteh alleged that “the occupation continues to systematically target aid delivery personnel, creating an environment of chaos and looting, and disrupting any community effort to distribute aid.” Thawabteh further described the targeting of security teams as “a full-fledged crime under international law.” He claimed that the so-called “safe corridors” were in fact “traps for chaos and looting.” Source Hamla Kaddour shared a photo showing people running in a cloud of dust and climbing onto an aid truck.

At the time of reporting, attribution for the strike was consistently made to the Israeli military. There was no immediate statement from the Israeli military. This assessment will be updated if more detailed information on the incident emerges.
