On 25 June 2025, at least one civilian was killed, and numerous others were injured after an alleged Israeli drone strike hit a group of people near the Jasser building in the center of Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Multiple media sites such as Safa News, @ShehabAgency and @Sa7atPlBreaking reported that 47-year-old Amin Abdul Rahman Ragheb Shahwan, an engineer who was the head of the Water Distribution and Production Division with the Khan Younis municipality, was killed, and several others were injured in the incident.

The Palestinian Press Agency reported that two people were killed in the incident, reporting corroborated by Al-Quds, which cited eyewitnesses stating that “two Palestinians were martyred in an Israeli bombardment near the Jasser Building in the center of Khan Younis.” The identity of the second victim remains unknown.

Many condolence messages were shared on social media by Amin Shahwan’s family and friends.

In a heartfelt message, his wife, Umm Al-Abd Shahwan, conveyed the depth of her grief and sorrow over his death: “The day I lost you will always be the hardest day in my life. I lost my soul, I lost a piece of my heart, I lost a tender heart that is impossible to forget.” She described the profound impact of his loss, reflecting on the deep void left by his departure, the absence of his companionship, and the enduring memories of his tenderness, words, and laughter.

A few days later, she shared another message expressing the continuing intensity of her mourning: “You left me and left behind a heart that is wrenched with pain and a soul that longs to meet you, my beloved husband. You were everything to me, and now I live in an irreplaceable void. Your voice still rings in my ears. My dear husband, your separation broke me, the one who was my support and my backbone. You left me in this world, but you remain in my heart.”
