On June 13th, 2025, an alleged Israeli strike on the house of nuclear scientist Dr. Mohammad Reza Seddighi Saber in Tehran killed Mohammad’s 17 year-old-son, Hamid Reza Seddighi Saber. According to the local sources, the strike targeted the scientist, but led to the death of his son.
An Instagram post from @iraninsa reported that the 17-year-old student had been killed by an Israeli attack on his family home in Tehran. According to Jalal Sharq, Hamid’s funeral was held on June 20th in the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Astana Ashrafieh. Tasnim News Agency quoted Hamidreza Yahyapour, the commander of the IRGC in the city of Astaneh Ashrafieh, who mourned one of the “children of Astaneh Ashrafieh.” The article included an image of Hamid, a teenager pictured in a blue shirt in front of a city skyline.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.
