Airwars Assessment
On Friday, June 20, 2025, an alleged Israeli drone strike hit a five-story commercial building on Marzdaran Street in Tehran, injuring at least five people and damaging multiple businesses operating inside the structure, according to Iranian media reports. The explosion struck three floors of the building, where an upscale bakery, a women’s hair salon, and a psychiatrist’s office were located.
Initial information reported by Fars News Agency indicated that at least five individuals were injured in the blast. The severity of their injuries was not immediately disclosed, and no further casualty updates were released following the incident.
According to EtemadOnline and other local outlets, the force of the explosion was significant, with the blast wave shattering windows in nearby residential buildings and causing widespread panic among residents of the surrounding neighborhood. Witnesses reported loud shockwaves and visible structural damage to adjacent properties.
A photograph published alongside the report shows a car on fire, parked on a street scattered with rubble and clear signs of a recent explosion.
Reports indicated that all three affected units inside the building were in operation at the time of the explosion, suggesting that staff and clients were present when the blast occurred. Emergency and security forces were said to have arrived at the scene shortly afterward to begin rescue and safety operations.
All sources identifying a belligerent attributed the strike to Israeli military forces. Given the repetitive nature of the sources and the lack of information on the civilian harm, Airwars has graded the civilian harm status of the incident as “weak” until further confirmation is found.
