Airwars Assessment

Last Updated: December 9, 2025

During the strikes before dawn on October 19, 2025, 11 civilians, including eight children and two women, were killed and at least five others, including two children, were injured by alleged Israeli airstrikes which hit homes in Block four of Al-Bureij Camp in central Gaza.

@PalinfoAr initially reported “injured” from an Israeli airstrike on the Douhal family home near the Grand Mosque in Al-Bureij Camp. The account later posted an update, reporting that 10 people had been killed in the attack on Al-Bureij Camp.

@Sa7atPlBreaking published the names of seven people killed in the bombing “of the Washah family home”: Al-Hassan Ahmed Hassan Washah, his sister Tala Ahmed Hassan Washah, their brother Mohammed Ahmed Hassan Washah, their sister 15-year-old Nada Ahmed Hassan Washah, their mother 34-year-old Duaa Mohammed Fayez Washah, their uncle 34-year-old Ibrahim Hassan Ibrahim Washah, and their cousin (and Ibrahim’s son) two-year-old Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan Washah. Journalist Safinaz al-Louh added that Ibrahim’s wife 28-year-old Afaf Abu Jahjouh and their daughter Wateen Ibrahim Hassan Washah were also among those killed.

Imad Ghanem pointed out the tragedy that has befallen Ahmed Washah (Abu Al-Hassan) who “lived through two years of war, carrying his children in his eyes, fleeing with them from house to house, from one fear to another, searching for the safety he never found… And today, after he thought the war was over, the [Israelis] committed another crime, bombing his home and wiping out his entire family – his wife, his four children, his brother Ibrahim, and his son.”

The Ajyal Al-Majd Kindergarten and Educational Center mourned their students who had been killed – 10th grader Nada, 8th grader Tala, 3rd grader Al-Hassan, and 1st grader Mohammed, writing “Their seats are now empty, and their memory remains cherished in our hearts and the hearts of their teachers, friends, and loved ones.”

A young child named Osama Anas Jihad Abu al-Laban was also among those killed in Al-Bureij Camp and was mourned by his grandfather Jihad Abu Al-Laban, who included an image of Osama wearing a formal white shirt, bowtie and trousers, his aunt Hala Mohammad, who included a video of Osama with a man, likely his father, smiling and celebrating in different places, and his uncle Abdullah Abu al-Laban.

Firas A Marshoud also mourned his nephew the child Amir Muhammad Abu Marshoud who he reported had been killed with his other relatives in the Washah family as well as his cousin’s son Osama. According to @Alarabiya, Amir Hamada Abu Marshoud had been the only child to survive the Abu Marshoud family massacre. The post included a video of a woman holding a small body, possibly Amir, and mourning and lamenting her loss.

Najwa Abdo published a video and images on Facebook showing injuries arriving at Al-Awda Hospital from the attack – the images show a middle-aged man covered in blood being treated, two young girls in distress being treated while sitting on the same bed as two other men who also appear injured. In the video ambulances can be seen rushing past tents in the dark.

According to the Facebook account “Al-Bureij Camp brings us together”, the family members were killed in their home in Block four and their funeral was held the Monday after their death, October 20th, in Al-Bureij Camp. A Facebook post from Firas A Marshoud also wished healing for the “wounded and injured” but there was no other information on the number of injuries.

On October 19 at 7:31 PM local time, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) posted to their official Telegram account, announcing that the military had “struck Hamas terror targets.” The account framed the strikes as “response to the blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement earlier today.” Roughly two hours later, at 9:31 PM, the account posted an update, writing “In accordance with the directive of the political echelon, and following a series of significant strikes in response to Hamas’ violations, the IDF has begun the renewed enforcement of the ceasefire.” The post concluded with “The IDF will continue to uphold the ceasefire agreement and will respond firmly to any violation of it.” Though these statements do not contain sufficient detail to link IDF actions that day to this specific incident, Airwars is including both of these statements to reflect the comments of the Israeli military on the day of this incident.

Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to the Israeli military.
