Airwars Assessment
48-year-old tour bus operator and guide Ali Mohammad Sanei was killed whilst driving his bus on the Tehran-Qom road on 15 June, 2025, allegedly by an Israeli drone.
From Mashhad, Ali was born on March 12, 1977, and was known for his good humour. He had been a “Captain” at Mashhad Tours. Multiple sources commented on Ali’s kindness, with Instagram user @iraninsa writing that, “to his passengers, he was known only for his kindness and love of the journey.” Other sources stressed that Ali “wasn’t a soldier” and “had nothing to do with war.”
A photograph compilation of pictures taken from Ali’s personal Instagram was created by relative @sanei068. Multiple photographs show Ali in nature, on his bus, and at dinner with friends. One memorial featured in the video specifies that Ali was killed by a drone.
His death was publicly announced by his son; he was buried in the village of Marshak, in Mashhad.
All sources who pointed to a belligerent identified the Israeli military.
