Two alleged Iranian drone strikes hit the Kuwait International Airport during the evening of Saturday, 28 February 2026, resulting in “minor injuries” to several airport employees and four Bangladeshi nationals. It was unclear if the Bangladeshis nationals injured were also airport employees.
As reported by multiple sources, Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) declared that a drone had struck Kuwait International Airport, resulting in minor injuries to several employees and limited material damage to Terminal 1.
The Business Standard reported that four Bangladeshis had been injured in the drone attack: Aminul Islam from Nabinagar in Brahmanbaria, Rabiul Islam from Sathia in Pabna, Masudur Rahman from Begumganj in Noakhali, and Dulal Miah from Chandina in Cumilla. An article in Dhaka Tribune quoted the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment which stated that one expatriate had suffered a serious knee injury from the explosion, while the remaining three suffered cuts and injuries from shattered glass, and that all had been provided initial treatment at a local hospital,
@NewsNow4USA reported that the Kuwaiti Prime Minister had visited Farwaniya Hospital to “check on the condition of citizens and residents injured in the attack.” In corresponding images, three people – two men and one woman – are pictured in hospital beds.
The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) blamed the Iranian military for the attack, reporting that Iranian missile attacks disrupted air traffic, leading to the postponement of all departing and arriving flights to and from the airport following the security developments. @Jeddou Isselmou also attributed the attack to Iran.
