On Thursday, March 26, 2026, an unidentified civilian’s body was recovered by the Palestinian Civil Defence. According to a Safa News correspondent, the civilian had allegedly been killed by the Israeli military on the preceding day, March 25, near the Al-Qarara area, east of Salah al-Din Street, east of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to a posts quoting a statement by the Palestinian Civil Defence, a body was recovered after being “targeted” by the Israeli military and transported to the Nasser Medical Complex. The rescue operation was carried out in coordination with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). No details were found regarding the deceased civilian, whose identity is currently undetermined. Accoring to nabd.com, a correspondent for Safa News reported a day before that someone had been killed and his body remained lying on the ground near the Al-Abara area on Salah al-Din Street in the central Gaza Strip.
An image posted by Facebook user Abu Amjad Khamis, whose profile says they are employed by the Palestinian National Authority, depicts a group of men wearing orange vests carrying a white plastic bag, appearing to contain a human corpse, through the debris of a damaged structure alongside a grey wall.
The incident was reported by several local media outlets, including the news outlets Nabd, Al-Bawaba 24 News, Fifth News Network, and the Hamas affiliated outlet Shehab News Agency.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to the Israeli military. However, the way in which the man was killed was not found among local sources and therefore “unknown” has been listed as for both strike type and cause of death.
