Airwars assessment
At least one belligerent was killed and as many as two civilians were injured in alleged Israeli strikes on farmland in eastern Al-Fakhary in the southeast of Khan Younis on May 13th 2021.
@MyPalestine0 reported that Abdel Aziz Abdel Hamid Abu Taima was killed by an artillery shell east of Al-Fokhari in Khan Younis and two other people were seriously injured. Many of the sources identified Taima as a member of the artillery unit in the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, while @qudsn was the only source to refer to him as a “farmer”.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine released a statement following his death: “with pride, one of the fighters of the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the martyr comrade Abdul Aziz Abdul Hamid Abu Taima bled. Glory to the martyrs and certainly victory to the valiant resistance.”
The body of Abdel Aziz Abdel Hamid Abu Taima was taken to Nasser Hospital “in pieces” following the strike.
@mo11977 identified Taima as being in “a group of fighters” but it is unclear if those injured in the strike were also fighters. Fatah Media referenced “the injury of a number of civilians” when discussing the incident, Abu Ali posted on Facebook that those injured were civilians.
Most of the sources that reported on the incident attributed the strikes to Israel.
The incident occured at 09:10:00 local time.
