At approximately 11.30 am on May 10th 2023, an Israeli air force drone allegedly targeted an agricultural field in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis, killing two men. It is unclear whether the men killed were civilians or militants.
The victims were “wounded in separate parts of the body” and promptly transferred to the European Gaza Hospital in Khan Yunis, where “their injuries were described as very serious”, the al-Mezan Center for Human Right reported. Around 1.00 pm, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the death of Muhammad Yousef Saleh Abu Ta’ima, 23. Around 4.00 pm on the same day, medical sources announced the death of Alaa Maher Yassin Abu Ta’ima, 28. Both victims were from the town of Abasan al-Kabira in Khan Yunis.
The location of the strikes was identified as an agricultural field near Abasan Al-Kabira Park.
Multiple local sources refer to the men killed as civilians. However, a tweet from @Mansorryaan refers to the target of the strikes as being “a group of Al-Quds Brigades” while the Palestinian National Liberation Movement “Fatah” posted on @fateh__1965 a memorial for both Muhammad and Alaa without specifying if either were members of Fatah.
