On May 12, 2023, the area of Musabah in the southern Gaza strip was reportedly struck by Israeli aircraft. According to local reports, this resulted in injuries to a 71-year-old civilian, the destruction of three residential buildings, and damage to several others.

Reporting on this event, the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, stated “At approximately 14:15 on Friday, 12 May 2023, Israeli warplanes bombed, with one missile, the house of Ahmed Ayesh Salmi Al-Hashash (41 years old), in which a family of (7) people, including (5) children, lived, and had an asbestos roof.” According to the Center, a 71-year-old man named Ayesh Salama Mazyad Al-Hashash was wounded as a result of this event, and was taken to Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital.

On the damage to properties in the vicinity, the Center reported, “The house was completely destroyed, and two adjacent houses were completely destroyed. A house owned by Mohammed Ayesh Salama Al-Hashash, in which a family of (9) resides. Including (5) children, and a house inhabited by the families of the two brothers, Kamel Mazyad Salama Al-Hashash, and the family consists of (8) individuals, including (5) children, and his brother Abdul-Malik. Their area is (100 square meters) for each house. A number of neighboring houses were partially damaged.”

Following this event, a Facebook user shared two photographs, one showing what appears to be a heavily damaged residential building, and the other a man receiving medical attention.
