At 11 am, on Wednesday September 27th, two Turkish airstrikes allegedly killed between one to seven people and injuring one in the village of Bukaraskan, in Singsar in Bashdar. One civilian, Asti Muhammad, was killed and another, Mirza Ibrahim was injured. The six other casualties were alleged members of the Turkish Worker’s Party (PKK.)

Asti Muhammad, was a 50-year-old mother of seven. Hawarnews reported that she “participated in all activities with the people of Qandil” and was active in condemning Turkish attacks. According to the news piece, she had been living Bukaraskan for the last 10 years and worked in livestock breeding. Other reports from Hawarnews, Roj, Kurdistan 24 and ANE reported that she succumbed to serious injuries after she was taken to and treated in the hospital in Qandil. She was hit as she assisted another civilian, Mirza Ibrahim, who was wounded in the first strike a few metres from her. Mirza Ibrahim was taken to intensive care.

The Counterterrorism Service in Kurdistan Region announced that there were two strikes within Sulamaniyah Governate, in Bukaraskan, near Binari Qandil at 11 am. The co-chair of the municipality of Qandil, Sarwin Jalal, spoke to Rojnews agency about the attack and said: “Today, a drone belonging to the Turkish occupation bombed the village of Bukarkan twice, and an elderly woman was injured. The woman who was seriously injured was transferred to the hospital, and material damage was also sustained in the village”

All news agencies reported on the two civilians harmed in the strike. Basnews also alleged that six PKK members were killed but no other media reports mentioned this and none of the PKK members were identified.
