In August 2025, the White Helmets released a detailed report on double-tap attacks in Syria over the last decade. In a rare investigation digging into the White Helmets’ own archives, the report brought together evidence collected on the ground by its first responders with open source material and other datasets such as flight logs.

In total the White Helmets team identified 122 incidents, and examined 12 incidents in detail in the report. The findings indicate a systematic pattern of attacks prohibited under international law.
