Airwars Assessment
Shortly before 1 AM on March 1 2026, four civilians were injured at Dubai International Airport, in the United Arab Emirates, following an alleged Iranian drone attack.
None of the victims were identified, but multiple sources confirmed that four civilians were injured as a result of the strike. One account from Mosafir.ma on Facebook described the injuries as “minor”, whilst no other accounts provided details on the severity of the injuries suffered.
Footage recorded inside the airport in the aftermath of the strike shows the panic and damage caused. One video, shared on X by @RoaaWarStudies among others, shows a young woman with blood on her forehead, cheek, nose and mouth. She is seen walking hurriedly in the same direction as other civilians and airport staff. A second video, also shared on X by @RoaaWarStudies and others, shows a man with what appears to be a head injury being driven away on an airport buggy. He is wearing a blue shirt which has been stained with blood and another person is seen holding a white cloth to his head.
Additional videos and images shared online give insights into the damage caused by the strikes. A video shared on X by @DiwanDaily and others, shows the moment a strike impacted directly outside the terminal building. The video appears to be taken from CCTV footage and shows an explosion occurring outside the terminal, visible through the glass windows of the building. The video shows passengers queuing at check-in desks before the strike, and then running away from the direction of the explosion in panic.
Two other videos, shared by @alhowil4 on X as part of a compilation alongside the previously mentioned videos, provide additional details. One shows airline staff hurrying down an escalator and through the airport, whilst the other shows damage and smoke to the boarding area at Gate B12, which has been deserted. An image shared on X by @korenalibya46 shows debris on the floor of the airport, with what seems to be smoke and dust obscuring the clarity of the rest of the image.
Additional images shared on X showed black plumes of smoke rising above different locations in the city.
The earliest report of the incident came from Twitter/X user @RoaaWarStudies at 1:02 AM local time (GMT +3) on March 1. As such, this incident has been recorded as occurring on March 1. However, it is possible that it happened late at night on February 28.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to the Iranian military.
