At least three civilians were killed and an unspecified number were injured in an alleged Israeli strike near Bilal Mosque in the Tal al-Sultan neighbourhood, west of Rafah, on the morning of August 1, 2024.
Sources including Al-Jazeera Arabic Egypt, the Palestinian Information Center, and Quds News Network reported the strike at noon local time, attributing it to a drone strike and ‘shelling’ by an Israeli drone.
Quds announced that three people were killed and a ‘number’ were wounded by a reconnaissance missile. Several other news outlets reported that three people were killed, though the number of those injured remained unknown.
No sources identified the names of the dead, or injured. This strike has been graded as Likely with a civilian harm status of Fair due to extensive and explicit attribution to the Israeli forces, as well as the type of munition reported to have been used.
