Around 2:30 PM on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, an Israeli quadcopter drone allegedly injured at least two people by dropping a hand grenade on Al-Jami’ Al-Kabir Street near Bureij Refugee Camp, Deir Al Balah.
The Palestinian Information Center first reported the incident through its Twitter / X account (@PalinfoAr), stating that a “bomb” launched from a quadcopter had caused “two injuries”. The same information was shared by other sources on social media, including Alarabiya Palestine, though no details were provided regarding the identities of the injured or the severity of the wounds.
Facebook user “Al-Maghribi Al-Maghribi” warned refugees at the Bureij camp to be “extremely careful” after his son was injured by a hand grenade while crossing the road in Block 12 near the Batran intersection, mentioning that some young men had been lightly injured – it is unclear whether Al-Maghribi’s son was injured in this or an earlier incident.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
