Airwars assessment
On the morning of October 12, 2023, an Israeli airstrike allegedly hit a residential building on Jaffa Street, close to the Al-Baraka roundabout in central Deir Al-Balah. Sources, including Shehab News Agency and social media sources, reported 14 injuries resulting from the strike. According to the Facebook user Khaled Abdel Rahman, the home belonged to the Al-Muqayd family.
Among the first to report on this event was Wattan News Agency, which stated at 8:43 local time that “Warplanes targeted a house near Al-Baraka roundabout in the center of Deir Al-Balah.” This was corroborated by Shehab News Agency, Voice of The Nation Radio, and Gaza News Network.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
