On October 12th 2023, Shuaib Abu Sneina, his wife and his children were reportedly injured in an alleged Israeli airstrike on their family home in the Gaza Strip.
Shuaib Abu Sneina, a freed prisoner from Jerusalem deported to the Gaza Strip, was reportedly taken to hospital alongside his wife and children. It has been widely reported that Shuaib Abu Sneineh spent 13 years imprisoned and was released in 2011 as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange, also known as the Wafaa Al-Ahrar deal. The Wadi Hilweh Information Center – Jerusalem added that Shuaib’s house in Silwan was closed while he was imprisoned and Manal Idris M. Khaled reported that he had been accused of stabbing an Israeli soldier. No sources indicated that he was currently a member of an armed group.
Multiple sources identified Shuaib Abu Sneina and his family members as in serious condition.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
