On August 2nd, 2025, reports alleged that Israeli aircraft struck aid personnel working near the distribution area at al-Tawam roundabout, northwest of the Gaza Strip. Medical Services and multiple local outlets reported that three people were killed and ten others injured in the attack. Sources claimed that the attack hit aid guards responsible for securing the arrival and distribution of humanitarian aid, though it is unclear how many of those killed and/or injured were part of the distribution security and how many were among those waiting for food.

Mahmoud Atta Abu Khalifa (Abu Ahmed) was reportedly killed while waiting for humanitarian aid, and was remembered by several community posts as a neighbour and family member. A tribute from “Social Distancing News” identified him as “al-Das,” stating that he died while waiting for humanitarian aid. Other accounts, such as Hasina Aya, described him as a respected and honourable young man, and Mohammed Abu Warda wrote condolences to his “honourable neighbour.” Amal Alghaleez also offered condolences to his relatives, and asked “May God have mercy on you.”

According to journalist Diaa Abu Aoun, three of those killed and 10 of those wounded in the al-Tawam and al-Khazindar areas arrived at Sheikh Radwan Clinic while Safa News reported at 2:47 p.m. that according to medical sources, the three deceased and 10 wounded had been attacked at al-Tawam roundabout.

Photos of Mohammed Atta, an adult man with brown hair, accompanied many of the social media publications.

At the time of reporting, attribution was consistently made to Israeli aircraft.
