Airwars Assessment
During the morning of Thursday, 5 June 2025, multiple civilians were reportedly killed and five others injured when Israeli forces allegedly opened fire on Palestinian civilians described as unarmed and on their way to collect aid at a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation distribution site located west of Rafah. Sources mention both the Tel al-Sultan and the Shakoush area.
According to Mohamed Awad, “martyrs and injuries” resulted when Israeli forces discharged weapons from military vehicles near the aid center west of Rafah. Al-Quds Channel along with multiple other local sources reported “at least five Palestinians injured” by Israeli gunfire.
In what appears to be the same incident, additional sources indicate that on the same day, Israeli helicopters fired upon an aid center situated in the Shakoush area, west of Rafah.
There was no information on the identities of the victims, but all sources referred to multiple civilians killed. As such, the minimum civilian harm range has been set at two. This assessment will be updated if more information emerges.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to the Israeli military.
Geolocation indicates GHF proximity.
