Airwars assessment
Shortly before 10:36 PM on Tuesday, October 24th 2023, an alleged Israeli airstrike hit two homes in the Al-Saftawi and Bir al-Naja neighborhoods north of Gaza City, killing at least five civilians, including a man and a child, and injuring at least four children.
Several sources, including Al-Jazeera Arabic and Gaza’s Interior Ministry, reported that people were killed and wounded in the strike. A video posted by Al-Jazeera showed a number of injured people, including four small children, being taken to a hospital for treatment. Many of the victims appeared to be coated in dust, and the video shows loved ones wailing at the hospital.
One source, a social media profile of Mohamed Yaheea on Twitter/X (@mohamedyaheea), posted a video showing rescue workers laying out four body bags, including one that appears to belong to a small child. Like others, this source offered “a number of martyrs” arriving at the hospital, which Al-Jazeera stated was the Indonesia Hospital. It also showed a dead body of a man lying on a stretcher.
Four sources named Israeli forces as the belligerent.
The incident occured at approximately 10:00 pm local time.
