Last Updated: December 15, 2024

On Tuesday October 24th 2023, at least one civilian, the mother of a Dr. Nidal Hijazi, was injured in an alleged Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip.

Her son, Dr. Nidal Abdullah Hijazi was also stuck under the rubble and emerged from it to treat his mother at the hospital in his role as a professor and doctor. Several videos showed him, a middle-aged man in glasses, treating his mother’s foot after emerging from the rubble while he was still covered in dust. Despite being trapped under rubble, Nidal did not appear to have sustained any physical injuries; as no source explicitly mentioned any wounds, Dr. Nidal has not been included in our range of civilians injured.

The exact location and local time of the strike are unknown.

Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.
