Airwars assessment
During the day on Monday, 30 October 2023, “injuries” were reported after an alleged Israeli airstrike in the Anwar Aziz area in the center of Jabalia refugee camp in the north of the Gaza Strip.
Photographs were released and reshared by a number of media outlets and social media users showing two young men carried on stretchers by civilians and medical workers after the airstrike. One seems to be attempting to sit up with an extreme look of pain on his face. The other young man has blood on his upper body and a bandage on his hand. No further information regarding civilian harm was found within local sources.
A tweet from @warfareanalysis attributed the airstrikes to Israeli forces, while other sources referred to the “targeting” by warplanes of Jabalia camp, which has been taken to indicate Israeli involvement as Israel is the only belligerent with the capability for airstrikes in the Gaza Strip. Therefore, this incident has been graded as a “likely strike”.
This assessment will be updated if more information emerges.
The incident occured during the day.
