Airwars assessment
Shortly after 8pm on November 5th, 2023, a number of Palestinian civilians were reportedly killed and injured in an alleged Israeli airstrike on a home in Al-Mansoura Street in Shujaiya neighbourhood, east of Gaza City. Sources such as Najah FM and Al-Watan Voice reported that the home belonged to the Obaid family.
The sources did not indicate the exact number of people killed or injured in the airstrike. Nonetheless, sources such as Al Jazeera reported “martyrs and wounded” in the incident whilst sources such as Wafa suggested “a number of citizens were killed and injured.” Al-Ghadeer TV also referred to “a number of martyrs and wounded.”
In the absence of an exact number, and since reports mention multiple deaths and injuries, we have quantified the potential numbers of civilian deaths and injuries as a result of the strike on the residence as 2-2, respectively. This assessment will be updated if more information emergese.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.
The incident occured at approximately 8:39 pm local time.
