Airwars assessment
On November 6th, 2023, three journalists from the Palestinian Media Group were reportedly injured by an alleged Israeli airstrike on the media office headquartered on the16th floor of the Burj Al-Ghafri tower, west of the Gaza strip. While the three injured journalists were widely cited by sources like The Palestinian Media Center, no information about their names, ages, or gender was found.
The video that was widely shared across platforms by sources like Al-Jazeera and Al-Sharq News showed the devastation inside the building moments after the bombing, showing the poor visibility and debris inside of the tower with people coughing due to the dust. One man in the video claims in Arabic “they hit us”. PalinfoAr shared the same video in a tweet, saying that “the media is a main target of the [Israeli] aggression…”. JournalistSupp1 also tweeted that “the Israeli […] force targeted the headquarters of the Palestinian Media Group […] condemn(ing) the continued targeting of media institutions.”
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to Israeli forces.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
