Airwars assessment
During the evening of November 7, 2023, one woman was killed, and “a number of” other women and children were injured by airstrikes allegedly deployed by the Israeli military on the al-Dhabous family home in the vicinity of the al-Tawbah area, west of Jabalia in North Gaza.
Reports of the attack first surfaced just after 17:15 on November 7th, and were picked up by Shehab Agency, Yemen News, and Palestine Graph among other news agencies, which reported a death and injuries to women and children, with Palestine Graph specifying that a woman was killed. While no source has specified how many people were injured, the reference to both “women” and “children” has been quantified as four to account for at least two women and two children injured.
Airwars has identified Wafaa Ahmed Abdel Hadi al-Dhabous, a 56 year old woman from the al-Dhabous family, as a potential casualty from this incident via Shireen Monitor, a Palestinian organisation documenting names of civilians killed, which listed Wafaa’s date of death as November 7, 2023 and the location of her death as Jabalia Camp / North Gaza. Both of these details match those for the strike on the al-Dhabous family. However, the location mentioned was not specific enough to allow Airwars to confidently link this name to this incident, therefore Wafaa has not been listed among the civilian casualty list. This assessment will be updated should more information emerge.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
