Whilst sources such as the Palestinian Press Agency (SAFA) initially reported that six had been killed in the strike, family members and friends of those killed, such as Mohamed Badwan, later identified nine people to have died.
Those identified to have been killed in the strike came from the Badwan, Shaheen, Haroun, and Muslim families. 65-year-old teacher Tawfiq Ahmed Mohamed Badwan, also known as Abu Mohamed, was killed alongside his 63-year-old wife Samia Mohamed Omar Shaheen and their 23-year-old son Anas Tawfiq Badwan.

Nine-year-old Adam Hossam Azmi Muslim, a basketball enthusiast in the fifth grade, was also killed in the strike.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Press Agency (SAFA) reported “a number of injured” as a result of the strike, whilst Wafaa Wafaa, writing on Facebook, reported that the injuries and deaths amounted to “a large number”. No source indicated the specific number of injuries that resulted from the strike.
Wafaa Wafaa, among other sources, noted that displaced people were among those killed and injured in the strike.
Many, including friends and family members, mourned those killed in posts on Facebook.
Mohamed Badwan wrote, “‘And never think of those who were killed in the cause of God as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, and they are provided for.’ God Almighty’s truth. We consider them martyrs in the sight of God. My uncle ‘Tawfiq Badwan’ and my uncle’s wife ‘Samia Shaheen’ and my cousin ‘Anas Tawfiq Badwan’. Our condolences to our relatives the Shaheen family… Bassam Shaheen and his mother [Latifa Ahmed Hamed Shaheen] and his nephew Yahya Shaheen. And the Muslim family… the child Adam Hossam Muslim. And the Haroun family… Yasser Haroun and his mother. May God have mercy on them and accept them as martyrs. ‘To God belongs what He takes and what He gives, and everything with Him has a specified term.’”
A video posted on Facebook by Mohamed Badwan showed at least nine shrouded bodies laid out on the street, surrounded by a crowd of mourners. Alongside the video he wrote, “May God have mercy on the martyrs. My father, mother, brother, uncle, aunt, cousin, nephew, and grandmother. In the bombing of our house today. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.”
Basil Rabbo announced, “My cousin Tawfiq Badwan Abu Muhammad and his family were martyred. May you be granted Paradise, God willing. To God we belong and to Him we shall return.”

His son Anas, a young man with black, styled hair and a black trimmed beard, wearing a white shirt and black trousers, was standing near him.
On Facebook, Mohamed Rizk mourned the loss of “my spiritual father. The martyr Dr. Bassam Shaheen Abu Muhammad. I don’t know how to mourn you. Should I mourn you as a father..or as an older brother..or as a sincere friend. Oh God, accept him among the martyrs and grant him your paradise. The seats and chairs of Al-Azhar University will miss you and I will miss your advice. To God we belong and to Him we shall return.” He added an image of Bassam, a middle-aged man with short gray hair, wearing a dark suit, a white shirt and a grey tie, sitting on a sofa.
Abdullah Ayash announced that, “My dear friend, the wise Yasser Haroun, and his mother were martyred. May God accept you, my brother.”
The Nuseirat Camp Facebook page wrote of Adam Hossam Azmi Muslim, “Fifth grade, very smart at school. He loved the Quran and memorized a lot of it. He loved basketball and used to train with the youth of Al-Maghazi Basketball Camp. Very popular and active.” The post was accompanied by a photo of the smiling young boy holding a kitten.
A fortnight after the incident, Mohamed Badwan further expressed his grief, writing, “Fifteen days since your departure, my dear brother. Days have passed and every time I miss your voice, your beautiful smile, your words and your beautiful image, O light of my eye. May God have mercy on you, my brother, O martyr of goodness. May God have mercy on you, my brother, how pure you are, how great you are, how sincere your intentions are, and how pure your heart is. O God, have mercy on those whose separation my mind is unable to comprehend. O God, have mercy on a soul that has nothing left between us but supplication. O God, have mercy on those who died in this world but did not die in my heart. O God, expand the grave of my deceased and my support with eternal bliss. Congratulations on your martyrdom, O beloved of the soul, for the best is the final home. To the gardens of eternity with the prophets, the truthful, and the martyrs, and good are those companions. We belong to God and to Him we shall return. Anas Tawfiq. Tawfiq Badwan. Samia Mohamed.”
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the alleged airstrike to Israeli forces.
Where possible, the names of the victims have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Since October 26, 2023, the MoH has released a number of lists, along with an additional list of medical professionals, which was released on September 17, 2024. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, names are matched to the second “Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza”, which was released on January 7, 2024.
