Airwars assessment
Shortly before 3 PM on Friday, October 11th 2024, alleged Israeli quadcopter drone gunfire hit Al Fouqa School, which housed displaced civilians, located behind Abu Rashid Pool in Jabalia Refugee Camp, injuring at least 15 civilians.
Twitter/X users Quds Press Agency (@qudspressagency) and the media network Gaza Now (@nowgnna) were the first to report the incident between 15:10 and 15:20.
At least 15 civilians were reported injured and transported to the Kamal Adwan Hospital in three batches. The incident was extensively covered online by news outlets and social media users.
@Qudspressagency on Twitter/X shared, “Urgent | Civil Defense: Dozens wounded by Israeli Quadcopter gunfire in Al Fouqa School, which shelters displaced people behind Abu Rashid Pool in Jabalia Camp, north of the Gaza Strip. Our crews have so far transferred 15 wounded to Kamal Adwan Hospital in three batches and are still transferring more wounded.”
@Talalibrahim81 on Twitter/X added, “Events in #Gaza during the past hours: Civil Defense (North Gaza): Dozens wounded by bullets from [Israeli] Quadcopter aircraft in the “Al Fouqa” school, which houses displaced people behind Abu Rashid Pool in Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip.” On Facebook, Hala Albustanje, shared “Dozens of injuries in Al-Fawqa School, which houses displaced people in Jabalia camp💔.”
Where sources identified belligerents, all sources attributed the quadcopter drone attack to the Israeli military.
The incident occured at approximately 3:00 pm local time.
Geolocation notes
Reports of the incident mention the Hafsa Al Fawqa School (مدرسة الفوقا) in the Jabalia Camp (مخيم جباليا), for which the generic coordinates are: 31.536168, 34.494012. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.
