At least three men were reportedly killed in an alleged Israeli bombing of the Al-Shati police station in the Al-Ahrar building west of Gaza City in Gaza on 18th March, 2025. 23-year-old Ahmed Mo’ad Haboush, 33-year-old Abed Al-Rahman Shehda Zaqout, and 48-year-old Mohammed Mustafa al-Taramsi, (Abu Islam) were reportedly killed in the building, which, according to multiple sources, was being used to shelter displaced persons.
Several sources, including the Palestinian Civil Defense Authority, also referred to the building struck as the Al-Ahrar building, which matches the location shown in videos and images published by Alarabiya Palestine of victims being removed from the rubble of the police station. Multiple sources including Safa News reported “martyrs and wounded” and a result of Israeli “shelling” of the Al-Ahrar building, attributing this information to the Palestinian Civil Defense Authority.
Photos show a smiling Ahmed Mo’ad Haboush, who was to get married less than a month after he was killed. His fiancée, Braa Wael, mourned him on Facebook, “My beloved, my fiancé, my martyred moon, the owner of the beautiful smile and the tender heart, Ahmed Maad Haboush. He left me to become the fiancée of a martyr who was coming and not turning back.”
In a Facebook post by the family of Abed Al Rahman Shehda Zaqout in Ashdod, and the Youth Union Council, the attack reportedly occurred at dawn. The family offered their prayers, including Abed’s nephew, Mr. Ahmed Sami Abo Nahl, who posted, “My uncle Abdulrahman Shahada Zaqout Abu Shahada #Martyr.”
Mohammed Mustafa Al-Taramsi, (Abo Islam) was memorialised by several relatives, including cousins. In one of his photos, he is standing tall with his arms crossed against his chest, dressed in a dark jumper. and smiling at the camera.
Zena Kh posted on Facebook asking for prayers for “my mother and brother who were injured in the attack on the Al-Ahrar building” adding that they had yet to receive medical treatment.
Aneen al-jarah published a graphic photo of a child with injuries across his face and arms.
Ameera Nour celebrated the safety of their sister, husband, and children in the bombing in the Al-Ahrar building, and included images of damage to what appears to be a bedroom where part of the wall has been destroyed and debris litters the floor.
All names have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, names are matched to the eighth ‘Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza’ list, which was released on October 26, 2023.
