Airwars Assessment
Shortly before 4:39 a.m. on March 18th, 2025, an Israeli airstrike reportedly targeted the Hamdan family home in Beit Hanoun, north of the Gaza Strip. The bombardment resulted in the deaths of five family members and an unspecified number of injuries.
Twitter/X account @Sa7atPlBreaking reported the incident at 4:39 a.m., writing about “martyrs and injured” and marking the information as urgent. @quds reported the same information at 4:43 a.m. Sources such as @PalinfoAr, “Hani alshaer,” and “Khaled ben amor” all reported “martyrs and wounded” from the incident, which was described by some, including “Hazem ayman” and “Alaa daughter of omar,” as a “horrific massacre.”
Social media posts from family members and other accounts consistently named the five victims, who were a mix of adults and children. A female teacher, Fulla Shahada Hamdan, was reported killed, as was 21-year-old Hanin Sabri Hamdan and her three siblings, sisters Asmaa Sabri Hamdan, who was 17 or 18, Raghad Sabri Hamdan, who was nine or 10, and 19-year-old brother Ahmed Sabri Hamdan. Two of their siblings reportedly survived. Posts by Abo El Baraa Hamdan and Mousa hamd provided details on the family relations, noting the siblings were the children of a “prisoner,” Sabri Rafiq Saeed Hamdan and his wife, Suheir Jabbar Saada Hamdan (Umm Saeed Haya).
Suheir was reportedly killed in another incident on August 16, 2025, and Sabri was released on October 13, 2025. In a post on August 16, Kamel Akram Abuamsha said that Sabri had “been imprisoned in Israeli jails for a year.”
Posts from “Umm saraj ali” and others identified Fulla Hamdan as a teacher, with subsequent posts from Mostamroon and “Hamdios vabadus” specifying she was an UNRWA teacher and taught at Jabalia Mixed Elementary School C.
Images of the victims, including photos of the children and Fulla, were circulated on social media, with one photo showing Ahmed with an older man, possibly his father.
Where possible, the names of the victims have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Since October 26, 2023, the MoH has released a number of lists, along with an additional list of medical professionals, which was released on September 17, 2024. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, names are matched to the eighth “Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza”, which was released on March 24, 2025.
The Ministry of Health lists listed Asmaa’s age as 17 and Raghad’s as nine. These conflicts slightly with the ages given by user “Beit hanoun,” who listed Asmaa as 18 and Raghad as 10.
All sources uniformly attributed the strike to Israeli forces.
