On 18 March 2025, two children, brother and sister 13-year-old Ayman Muhammad Walid al-Faran and nine-year-old Bisan Muhammad Walid al-Faran, were reportedly killed in an alleged Israeli bombing that occurred in Hamad City, a neighbourhood in northwestern Khan Younis. One source, Mahmoud Mohsen on Facebook, claimed that specifically the two were killed as a result of a bomb on the tents of displaced people in Mawasi, Khan Younis.
Many family and friends posted in mourning of the two children killed in the attack. Their grandparent, Waleed Wajdy on Facebook, posted in mourning of their two grandchildren and sent a message of prayer to their son, and the father of the children, Muhammad Abu Ayman.
Another post on Facebook, from Bahaa Baker, also mourned the children and sent condolences to their father, who the post referred to as a brother, friend and neighbour.
According to a post from the Hamad Residential City page on Facebook, the two children were from Hamad City, and the post noted that Ayman was the only son of his parents.
