Airwars Assessment
Two children were reportedly killed in an alleged Israeli attack in Khan Younis on March 18, 2025: 8-year-old Muhammad Ramez Salah al-Hout and his older sister, 11-year-old Lian Ramez Salah al-Hout.
Facebook user Alaa Swalma posted a photo of the two smiling children looking over a newborn, possibly their new baby brother. The boy was wearing a black sweatshirt with white lettering. The girl, who was taller than her brother, wore a pink sweatshirt and a black jacket. She had red nail polish on her fingernails and her hair tied back in a ponytail.
There is no further information available about the incident, including how it occurred or the exact time and location. Both named victims have been found among the list of casualties of March 18, 2025 by Shireen Monitor, a Palestinian organisation documenting names of civilians killing by the Israeli military. The Monitor reported the location of their deaths as Khan Younis. Both names have also been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, names are matched to the eighth ‘Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza’ list, which was released on March 24, 2025
None of the local sources reporting on this specific casualty attributed the strike to a belligerent, both names were found in Shireen Monitor and the Palestinian Ministry of Health list of fatalities, both of which specifically attribute those included to actions by the “Israeli aggression”, therefore this incident has been graded as a “likely” Israeli strike.
